About

The Stewart Manor Fire Department is located at 120 Covert Avenue, Stewart Manor, New York. The department was organized in 1927 by local residents who felt a need to provide fire protection for the village. On Sept. 28 of that year, the department held its first meeting. Edward Jackson was the department's first chief and the first apparatus purchased was a 1926 Brockway pumper.

Today the department is comprised completely of volunteers and continues that great tradition by providing fire and rescue services. The department consists of two engine companies, one being a 77' Quint, one rescue truck and one ambulance, which is ALS (Advanced Life Support) certified.

Along with protecting the Village of Stewart Manor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, mutual aid is both given and received by bordering towns and villages. The Stewart Manor Fire Department has reciprocal Mutual Aid agreements with all first battalion departments. Our departments dedication to training is apparent as we have evolved into a very productive unit and our neighboring departments recognize that as they have incorporated us into their mutual aid responses.
